Connect 5 Game

Connect 5 is a simple, tile-laying, turn-based strategy game for 2-4 players, where the goal is to form a row of 5 tiles of your own colour. A winning line can be horizontal, vertical, or diagonal.

Setup: Each player chooses a colour and takes the stack of tiles in that colour. There is no fixed board, and the first tile will start the playing area.

How to play: On your turn, place one of your tiles so that it touches the flat edge of any tile already in play; corner-to-corner placement is not allowed. Players continue taking turns, trying to extend their own lines of tiles while blocking opponents from completing five in a row.

Running out of tiles: If you run out of tiles and nobody has yet made a line of five, you must pick up one of your own tiles from the edge of the layout and move it to a new legal position. When moving a tile, you must still follow the placement rule (touching a flat edge) and cannot leave any of your tiles isolated from the rest of the group.

Winning the game: The game ends immediately when a player creates a line of five tiles of their colour in a row, in any direction (horizontal, vertical, or diagonal). If all players are recycling tiles and no one can create five in a row, you may agree the game is a draw
